Map of historical FiDi

San Francisco’s Financial District’s history is as rich as diverse. It once was a mexican pueblo of 450 people. It then became America and was renamed San Francisco. The waterline came as far Commercial Street and its Long Wharf… In its early years, among deserted ships, seamen, vigilantes and traders roamed the streets feasting, inventing, reading…Shortly thereafter, in those same streets, many firsts occurred: first US Mint Branch or first library and first mechanical slot machine, FiDi has seen a lot if not seen it all in its long history.
